Diocesan Director of Human Resources
Responsible for making sure the Diocese of Knoxville fulfills its religious and secular obligations related to employees in the areas of hiring/terminating, compensation, benefits management, training, ongoing professional development, evaluation, promotion, and policy generation. Responsible for monitoring and ensuring the diocese's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance. Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention. Ensures that all employees have quarterly discussions and receive an annual performance review.
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Ruman Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; or 10 years of human resource generalist or management experience in lieu of degree
· At least five years of human resource generalist or management experience required.
· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
Diocesan Director of Communications
Responsible for managing all diocesan communications efforts, primarily in the areas of video, digital media and print. Direct and provide content in the form of press releases, news articles, messages, photos, and videos for the diocesan website, social media platforms and The East Tennessee Catholic newspaper. Direct and produce diocesan video projects. Provide direct supervision of the Diocesan Communications staff.
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
· Experience in interviewing, newswriting, and applying those skills to create content for all diocesan digital and print media platforms.
· Experience with basic website content production.
· Ability to gather news and write content under deadline and with a level of proficiency expected in the field of journalism and media relations. Ability to shoot and edit photos/videos using digital cameras and photo editing software. Must be willing to work weekends and evenings.
